QLD Transport - Driver Distractions Campaign
It only takes a split second to lose your concentration and what many people don’t realise is that distracted drivers are dangerous.
In 2009 one in every ten deaths on Queensland roads was the result of drivers being distracted.
In an effort to reduce fatalities and serious injuries the Department of Transport and Main Roads has developed a campaign to discourage motorists from:
* talking on your hand-held mobile phone while driving
* reading or sending a text on your hand-held mobile phone while driving
* changing your radio station or CD while driving
* attending to children in the backseat while driving.
